I love these pictures. I’ve been working on a post about no grass for at least a week and am trying to finish it up right now. I’ll be linking to this post and another of yours. I think we have a lot more grass than you had, but you have given me lots of ideas for replacing large parts of it. Thanks!
Yeah, I don’t understand the appeal of grass much at all…I mean, maybe an area big enough for cornhole or croquet would be nice (& small enough to mow with a reel mower) but beyond that it’s just work work work and for what? I had a friend visit once from Germany and as we pulled into my parent’s suburban neighborhood he said “wow…everything looks like a golf course…” and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t meant as a complement
We were really lucky to buy a house that had an almost entirely (and beautifully) landscaped front yard…the back yard is a different story! I will have to post a picture of that sometime…once we get to that part of the project that is our house/garden! I will have to check out your ideas for larger areas of grass when you post them.
who we are: working gradually & hopefully toward a self-sufficient, sustainable lifestyle...keeping a record what we do - or attempt to do - on the way (gardening, raising chickens, preserving food, becoming less dependent on the energy grid, etc.)...and we are definitely learning as we go...
