Four Weeks – Already?!?
It is hard to believe the chicks are already four weeks old and almost ready to move outside…to the as-yet-to-be-build (yikes) coop! They can really fly, they roost really well and eat a lot. I can’t pick them up with just one hand anymore. Most of them like to be petted but still aren’t too fond of being picked up. They are no longer camera shy. We are still keeping the heat lamp on and the temperature about 80 but will lower to to 70 this week to get them ready for the great outdoors. Wow, we really need to get on to building that coop, don’t we?

What cuties! You’re toughening them up will get them ready for their great big world, a place to find live bugs and ‘wild’ grains to eat. They love dandelion fluffballs to choose a seed or two, so let them help you out – when the time is right.
I think they might have their first outdoor excursion tomorrow afternoon. The “kennel” is mostly put together and it is supposed to be above 80! They really seem stir crazy in their brooder – not pecking each other or anything bad, just restless.
