Happy 1 Week Old Day

Six of our seven chicks made it to their first week birthday. They grow a lot in one week…they eat noticeably more now and are messier and louder, able to roost and try to fly (a couple of them have actually managed to fly clumsily across the brooder). Couple other things you notice about week-old chicks…1. their wings are really formed and noticeable now and 2. they are really camera-shy! But if you compare these pictures to the fuzzy little buckeye that showed up here last Tuesday you can really see a difference already…

Oh, they are so cute with just a few feathers.
Just wait until another week! It is truly amazing. Ours now have what my little boy refers to as “a bad feather day.” hahaha. They do look a bit silly, but also really cute at the same time. I love the wing and leg stretches. Sometimes I think they do it just to impress me.
