Already such little individuals, aren’t they?… and totally cute too!
(Sometime, you must ask your mother to tell you what chickens talk about when they scratch around in the chicken yard…she knows.)
i am hoping that they start talking about how to clean up after themselves, share housekeeping (coop-keeping) tricks. chicks are so CUTE but so messy! i will ask mom if this is part of chicken conversation (afraid i know the answer already, though)
I tried to feed mine some egg yolk yesterday and they just looked at it for a long time. They eventually did try it, but didn’t eat it up like I expected. I was surprised they didn’t gobble it up.
we’ve never fed ours anything else except chick feed so maybe they were just excited about having variety (?). they seriously went a bit crazy over the egg yolk.
who we are: working gradually & hopefully toward a self-sufficient, sustainable lifestyle...keeping a record what we do - or attempt to do - on the way (gardening, raising chickens, preserving food, becoming less dependent on the energy grid, etc.)...and we are definitely learning as we go...
