Body Builder Eggplants

The seeds I planted on Saturday are sprouted! Especially the Japanese eggplant (those are the long, thin eggplants). Since these are so spindly already we pinched their stems to make them buff up.
It’s kind of the same principle as weightlifting; pull weights that are heavy enough to tear muscle and the muscles repairs and stronger.
When muscle-ing out an eggplant sprout you want to pinch just until you feel a slight pop. That makes the plant focus its energy on building up its stem rather than continuing to grow taller (and get thinner, weaker stems).
