The Seeds are Here!
We received two of our seed orders (Territorial Seed Company and Seed Saver’s Exchange) in the mail yesterday. We are going to grow a lot of different things this year: asparagus, eggplants, tomatoes, potatoes, swiss chard, peppers, cucumbers, beans, peas, carrots, lettuce, spinach, and cabbage……..to name a few. It is definitely going to be hard work, but fun. It is amazing that from these tiny seed packets, we will have food that will feed us in the summer and for seasons to come. Growing a garden is a very rewarding hobby. Playing in the dirt and watching stuff grow is a great way to pass the time. It will be interesting to see what scavengers will be visiting the garden. When we first moved in we saw a groundhog in the backyard a couple of times. Our dog’s daily sprint out into the yard barking as loud as he could made the groundhog a little shy. I’m sure fresh greens will help him overcome his bashfulness rather quickly. We live on a dead end street with woods all around us. Deer are also a big problem in these parts and our neighbor’s first flock of chickens didn’t last that long (predators of some sort got’em) I’m sure there will be some stories to tell on our little urban plot in the city of Price Hill. Stay tuned.

hard to believe that cute little guy with the clover is really our arch-nemesis. love the picture…but where are the pictures of the seeds (ha xoxo)
