Around the Sun Together
Our one year anniversary was February 16. SO much has happened this year…best of all we survived the bickering and we still love each other
To celebrate we went to Indianapolis for the Sustainable Earth conference at the Fairgrounds. I am ashamed to say that we did not attend a single session, though I am sure they were all very informative. Instead we wandered around chatting with vendors about different ways to run CSAs (more on CSA involvment later), raise chickens (more on that later too) and other related locavore topics.
On our way to the Roundbarn Bed&Breakfast where we had reservations we took a scenic detour to the Traderspoint Creamery where you can buy really good drinkable yogurt.
So we finally arrive at the B&B. It is, literally, a round barn, surrounded by fields that are slowly (sadly) being converted into shopping centers & neighborhoods. I just can’t say enough about what a comfortable, welcoming place this is — and it also has ANTIQUES! Lots of them. Some of them are creepy (carnival clown heads, frilly ceramic angels), some fall more into the useful category (milk bottles, butter churns, etc). One of the coolest items was a game call Rich Farmer Poor Farmer, kind of like monopoly but with locust plagues and church bazaars instead of railroads. Unfortunately I did not get a picture — if I can find a picture somewhere…or, better yet, buy my own..
